There are no shortcuts to a great hat, just good craftsmanship and hard work.
Our craftsmen have to make skillful decisions at each stage of the hat-making process but “if we wouldn’t wear it, why would someone else want to buy it?” is the motto we have crafted into every hat since 1968.
Prior to production, every detail of your order can be customized with our personalized hat-making process, from crown to color. We tailor-make every hat to meet the specific needs of your customers.
Hat blocking is the first step into getting a hat shape started and stretched. Using finger blockers along with hat blocks to get the basic crown sized/shaped and the brim stretched out to the desired length.
We sand, finish, and singe our furs to create the finish that Master Hatters has become known for over the years.
For wholesale manufacturing, we have preselected crown shapes. We use hydraulics to apply pressure with heat to create the perfect shape every time.
Each hat is finished with the finer details. The finishing touches include flanging the brim, sewing the leather sweatband, applying the lining inside the crown, and adhering the hat band.
